Day 2

Bangkok City Tour

[WEEKENDS ONLY] We recommend having a light breakfast, saving space for your stomach for a culinary adventure at the Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market, a charming hidden gem that only opens on the weekends.

Then, visit the Grand Palace, the breathtaking symbol of Thailand’s royal heritage comprised of glittering temples, intricate carvings, and golden spires. Within the palace lies the Temple of the Emerald Buddha – Wat Phra Kaew, named after the 26-inches-tall statue of Gautama Buddha carved entirely out of jade and clothed in gold.

Continue towards Wat Pho, one of Bangkok’s oldest and largest temples, known for its massive statue of the Reclining Buddha stretching 46 meters long. This temple is also the birthplace of traditional Thai massage, offering lessons as well as authentic massage experiences for visitors.

Conclude the day with ferry ride across the Chao Phraya river to Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, known for its massive central spire of shimmering porcelain. You’ll climb the steep steps to reach the viewpoint, admiring the panoramic view of the city and river over the golden sunset.

At night, we highly recommend a tuk-tuk ride to Yaowarat Road, Bangkok’s Chinatown, for an exciting gastronomic experience of Thai streetfood.

Day 3

Bangkok - Ayutthaya

For today’s adventure, we will travel to the Ayutthaya, once the capital of the Siamese Kingdom, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its historic charm.

First, stop by the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, located just south of Ayutthaya. Restored in the late 1800s to be a royal retreat, the palace features the architectural styles of Thailand, China, and Europe, set amid tranquil gardens and reflective pools.

Next, we will arrive at Ayutthaya Historical Park for the next part of your adventure. Explore the iconic landmarks of this sprawling archeological zone, including:

  • Wat Mahathat: a revered temple widely-known for the stone head of a Buddha entwined within the roots of a Bodhi tree.
  • Wat Phra Si Sanphet: the royal temple and spiritual center of Ayutthaya
  • Wat Lokayasutharam: the Temple of the Reclining Buddha

[This adventure can be upgraded to a bicycle tour at your request, for extra visits to the surrounding countryside.]

At noon, depart for the Wat Chong Lom Pier for a luxurious river cruise along the Chao Phraya river. Enjoy a superb buffet lunch as you cruise along the riverbank, with a relaxing tea & coffee break while you admire the enchanting sights of the Royal Barge Museum, Thammasat University, the Grand Palace, and Wat Arun – the Temple of Dawn.

Arrival in Bangkok, where your transport is waiting to take you back to the hotel.

Day 4

Bangkok – Chiang Rai

Board a morning flight to Chiang Rai, Thailand’s northernmost city, and home of Thailand’s hill tribes and some of the nation’s most stunning temples.

Arrival in Chiang Rai, you’ll begin your adventure at Wat Rong Khun – the White Temple. This stunning, all-white structure is one of the most recognizable landmarks of Thailand, blending traditional Buddhist symbolism with avant-garde architecture. Then, visit the equally stunning Wat Rong Suea Ten – the Blue Temple, painted in deep sapphire hues with gleaming gold trims.

Continue to the village of the Karen hill tribe, most notable for their “Longneck” women with heavy brass necklaces surrounding their elongated necks. As your tour guide elaborates on this unique cultural practice, you can immerse yourself on a cultural experience as you witness age-old crafts of hand-weaving, farming, and natural dyeing.

Travel northwards to Choui Fong Tea Plantation, nestled on the rolling hills of Mae Chan. Wander through the vibrant terraced fields of tea, as you unwind and relax with a short tea break. Enjoy a variety of premium oolong, green, and black teas and other refreshments while soaking in the mountain views.

Conclude your adventure at Chiang Saen, a small crossroads town on the bank of the Mae Kong River, where you can visit the ancient temple ruins of Wat Pa Sak and enjoy the panoramic views of the Golden Triangle, where Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand converge. Soak up the slow pace of the evening with riverbank food stalls and local markets.

Back to Chiang Rai, transfer to hotel for check-in and rest.

Day 5

Chiang Rai – Chiang Mai

You’ll begin today’s adventure with a scenic drive through the mountains towards Chiang Mai, a historic city dotted with over 300 temples, surrounded by misty mountains and steeped in tradition.

On the way, we’ll make a short rest stop at the Mae Kachang Hot Springs to buy snacks, coffee, and other refreshments. For a small fee, you can also soak your feet or buy and boil eggs at one of the hot springs.

Arrival at Chiang Mai, transfer to hotel for check-in and a short rest.

A guided walking tour through the Old Town of Chiang Mai, where you can experience the rich cultural heritage of modern Thailand. Throughout this journey, you’ll visit iconic landmarks such as:
Tha Pae Gate – the historic city gate and starting point of your journey
Wat Phra Singh – housing one of Thailand’s most sacred Buddha images
Wat Chedi Luang – once the tallest structure of the ancient Lanna Kingdom
Wat Chiang Man – the oldest temple in Chiang Mai
Three Kings Monument – a commemorative statue of 3 ancient kings who forged an alliance to establish the Old City of Chiang Mai

Day 6

Elephant Sanctuary – Bamboo Rafting

Your adventure begins with a pickup at the hotel lobby, traveling to the lush Mae Wang district towards an ethical Elephant Sanctuary, where you learn to prepare and feed treats, explore the jungle alongside the elephants, and bathe them in the river.

Then, board a bamboo raft along the Mae Wang River, and glide through Thailand’s lush forest, soaking in their natural beauty as you drift downstream. Your transport will be waiting to take you back to Chiang Mai.

At night, you are treated to a Khantoke Dinner Show – a superb culinary and cultural experience of Northern Thailand. Savor a variety of regional dishes served upon a low wooden tray – khantoke, as you are seated cross-legged on a comfy cushion. As dinner progresses, enjoy a cultural showcase of classical Lanna dances such as the Fingernail Dance, sword-play, and candle dances to conclude today’s adventure.

Koh Samui Excursion

Today’s adventure features island-hopping excursions around Koh Samui surrounding islets.

Explore the natural beauty of the Ang Thong National Marine Park, with its most renowned feature being the Blue Lagoon Emerald Lake – a saltwater lagoon flanked by limestone cliffs.

OR

Travel to Koh Madsum (Pig Island), you can get a fix of cuteness overdose by playing with the many free-roaming pigs. Sun-bathe, swim, and take photos with the island’s four-legged locals at your leisure.

Both adventures also include free time for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and lunch.
