7-Day Thailand Itinerary: Bangkok, Floating Markets & Phuket Adventure

Arrival in Bangkok by flight.

Welcome to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand and the seat of Thai monarchy. With majestic royal palaces, glittering temples, and bustling streets, Bangkok offers an unforgettable mix of culture, history, and modern attractions.

Your adventure starts with visiting the Grand Palace, the breathtaking symbol of Thailand’s royal heritage comprised of glittering temples, intricate carvings, and golden spires. Within the palace lies the Temple of the Emerald Buddha – Wat Phra Kaew, named after the 26-inches-tall statue of Gautama Buddha carved entirely out of jade and clothed in gold.

Continue towards Wat Pho, one of Bangkok’s oldest and largest temples, known for its massive statue of the Reclining Buddha stretching 46 meters long. This temple is also the birthplace of traditional Thai massage, offering lessons as well as authentic massage experiences for visitors.

Next, board a longtail boat and navigate along the picturesque Chao Phraya River and its canals (klongs). This short river cruise offers a quieter experience of Bangkok as you observe local life unfolding at the water’s edge. Highlights on this journey includes the Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), and the colossal Buddha statue of Wat Paknam.

At night, we highly recommend a tuk-tuk ride to Yaowarat Road, Bangkok’s Chinatown, for an exciting gastronomic experience of Thai streetfood.

At 7 AM, you are picked up at the lobby of your hotel in Bangkok city center for the journey towards Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, located 60 miles from the capital. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the market, where locals in traditional longboats prepare local delicacies, fresh tropical fruits, and handcrafted goods.

Our next stop is the Maeklong Railway Market, where local vendors arrange their stalls just inches away from an active railway track. Witness one of Thailand’s most unique cultural scenes as the vendors pull back their awnings just moments before the train passes.

Picked up at the hotel lobby for your transfer to the airport, midday flight to Phuket International Airport.

Welcome to Phuket, Thailand’s biggest island and premier tropical destination. With white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and vibrant local culture, Phuket is the place for you to relax, recharge, and soak in the beauty of island life.

Picked up at your hotel lobby, where your adventure begins at the iconic Phuket Old Town. Admire the local architecture, a combination of Chinese and Portugese influence, most notably the Standard Chartered Bank, as well as street art along the town’s many roads. Followed up with an excursion to the Khao Rang Hill Viewpoint, where you can enjoy a scenic view of Phuket.

Continue with a visit to Wat Chalong, Phuket’s most revered Buddhist temple, dedicated to two local monk-heroes of Phuket. Conclude your adventure at the Promthep Cape, where a vantage point on the edge of the sea provides the perfect spot to capture the sunset for Phuket.

Back to hotel for rest, free time at leisure. Overnight in Phuket (Breakfast).

Enjoy an excursion to the surrounding islands of Phuket via speedboat. You have option to choose between:

Phi Phi Islands

• Maya Bay, the filming site of “The Beach (2000)” starting Leonardo DiCaprio
• Pileh Lagoon, a natural lagoon renowned for its towering cliffs and pristine waters
• Viking Cave, home to the island’s swallows, where you can enjoy open sea snorkeling and admire the diverse ecosystem of coral reefs and fishes.
• Phi Phi Leh & Bamboo Island, where you can savor a buffet lunch & enjoy leisure time of swimming and sunbathing.

Phang Nga Bay

• Visit the iconic James Bond Island from The Man with the Golden Gun (1974)
• Koh Panak Cave & Hong Island, where you can kayak through beautiful rock formations
• Ko Panyi stilt village, where you can savor a delicious buffet lunch
• Naka Island, where you can relax, sunbathe, and swim
