Damnoen Saduak is not the only floating market around Bangkok, as there are others such as the Khlong Lat Mayom that is less touristy and equally authentic. Open only in the weekends, this floating market serves a variety of food, from sizzling seafood to beloved Thai desserts. Travelers can choose to dine by the canal or take a short boat ride to soak in the market’s relaxed, local atmosphere.
Cu Chi Tunnels
An extensive underground network stretching over 200 kilometers (approx. 120 miles), these tunnels served as living quarters, supply routes, and hiding spots for Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam War. Today, visitors can explore sections of the tunnel, learn about wartime life, and see the ingenious traps used during the conflict. For a small fee, you can also use the firing range, shooting live rounds from guns used in the war.
