Chiang Mai is home to many elephant sanctuaries, where travelers can feed, bathe, and walk alongside the elephants under the guidance of their caretakers. Visiting an elephant sanctuary is a great way to build memories with friends and family, while interacting with Thailand’s gentle giants in a responsible and ethical way.
Cu Chi Tunnels
An extensive underground network stretching over 200 kilometers (approx. 120 miles), these tunnels served as living quarters, supply routes, and hiding spots for Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam War. Today, visitors can explore sections of the tunnel, learn about wartime life, and see the ingenious traps used during the conflict. For a small fee, you can also use the firing range, shooting live rounds from guns used in the war.
