The Old Town is Chiang Mai’s historical center, surrounded by ancient walls and a moat. Starting at Tha Pae Gate, visitors can explore centuries-old temples, lively markets, and streets filled with cafes and food stalls.
Cu Chi Tunnels
An extensive underground network stretching over 200 kilometers (approx. 120 miles), these tunnels served as living quarters, supply routes, and hiding spots for Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam War. Today, visitors can explore sections of the tunnel, learn about wartime life, and see the ingenious traps used during the conflict. For a small fee, you can also use the firing range, shooting live rounds from guns used in the war.
