Each morning in Luang Prabang, the streets is filled with a quiet sense of reverence as monks in saffron-colored robes walk barefoot to collect alms. Locals kneel respectfully to offer sticky rice, fruits, and other simple foods to the monk, continuing a tradition that has endured for centuries. Visitors can observe the ceremony in respectful silence, or participate in the ceremony by giving food to the monks themselves.
Cu Chi Tunnels
An extensive underground network stretching over 200 kilometers (approx. 120 miles), these tunnels served as living quarters, supply routes, and hiding spots for Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam War. Today, visitors can explore sections of the tunnel, learn about wartime life, and see the ingenious traps used during the conflict. For a small fee, you can also use the firing range, shooting live rounds from guns used in the war.
