Located just outside Phnom Penh, the Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center is Cambodia’s largest wildlife sanctuary and is a safe haven for rescued animals such as elephants, gibbons, sun bears, tigers, and more. Many of these animals were saved from poaching or illegal animal trades and are cared for at the center before they are ready to return to the wild. A visit to the center gives you the opportunity to learn about the center’s conservation efforts while supporting their mission to protect Cambodia’s wildlife.
Cu Chi Tunnels
An extensive underground network stretching over 200 kilometers (approx. 120 miles), these tunnels served as living quarters, supply routes, and hiding spots for Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam War. Today, visitors can explore sections of the tunnel, learn about wartime life, and see the ingenious traps used during the conflict. For a small fee, you can also use the firing range, shooting live rounds from guns used in the war.
