The Angkor Wat Temple Complex is arguably Cambodia’s most well-known historical landmark, and the world’s largest religious monument. Built in the 12th century, Angkor Wat’s grand towers, intricate bas-reliefs, and symmetry are the result of careful architectural planning and spiritual devotion. Witnessing the sunrise at the main temple is an unforgettable experience, and it is recommended that you arrive early to secure a good viewing spot.
Cu Chi Tunnels
An extensive underground network stretching over 200 kilometers (approx. 120 miles), these tunnels served as living quarters, supply routes, and hiding spots for Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam War. Today, visitors can explore sections of the tunnel, learn about wartime life, and see the ingenious traps used during the conflict. For a small fee, you can also use the firing range, shooting live rounds from guns used in the war.
