The Ayutthaya Historical Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that preserves the ruins of the Ayutthaya Kingdom from the 14th to 18th centuries. Within the park are ancient Buddhist monasteries, towering prangs (reliquary towers), and massive Buddha statues that showcase that grandeur of Ayutthaya’s past. Travelers can visit the park on foot or by bicycle to cover more areas.
Cu Chi Tunnels
An extensive underground network stretching over 200 kilometers (approx. 120 miles), these tunnels served as living quarters, supply routes, and hiding spots for Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam War. Today, visitors can explore sections of the tunnel, learn about wartime life, and see the ingenious traps used during the conflict. For a small fee, you can also use the firing range, shooting live rounds from guns used in the war.
